Tidewalker Associates to Conduct Feasibility Study

FERC’s Division of Hydropower has given Tidewalker Associates permission to conduct a three-year feasibility study for its proposed tidal energy project, which would be augmented by an LNG terminal in Cutler, Maine. However, developer Normand Laberge says he will not pursue the LNG element until the fate of two proposed Passamaquoddy Bay terminals becomes clear. “If the Canadian opposition is such that the projects cannot be built, my [LNG] proposal is a fallback position,” he said.
