RACE Representative Supports Wind Over LNG

Ratepayers for Affordable Clean Energy’s Rory Cox spoke at an anti-LNG meeting held Saturday, urging listeners to oppose the Jordan Cove LNG facility proposed for Coos Bay, Ore. because the terminal primarily would serve Northern California customers. He also argued that the project would not lower natural gas prices, saying that the costs of developing and operating the terminal would be “passed on to the ratepayers.” Cox said that renewable energy sources, such as wind power, are better alternatives to LNG because they are cleaner and more economical.
