The Times-Picayune says Louisiana Gov. Kathleen Blanco’s veto of Freeport-McMoRan’s Main Pass LNG facility and the company’s subsequent decision to modify the design of the project demonstrates that “the state can protect its environment without giving up economic opportunities like LNG ports.”
