U.S. Local Distribution Companies Consider Purchasing Canadian LNG

Alberta Northeast Gas Ltd., a group of U.S. Northeast LDCs, is looking into purchasing LNG supply from Canadian import terminals in the next two or three years because they may come online faster than those proposed for the United States, according to ANGL vice president James Carmichael. He says that the LNG development projects in Canada are likely to encounter less opposition and undergo a more straightforward approval process than in the United States.
