Rally Against Weaver’s Cove Proposal Planned for Monday

Today’s Herald News reports that critics of the proposed Weaver’s Cove LNG facility, including U.S. Sen. John F. Kerry (D-Mass.) and Fall River Mayor Edward M. Lambert Jr., have scheduled a rally against the project on Monday. “These rallies are not for nothing,” Lambert said. “The purpose is to continue to try and gain media attention, particularly outside the area, and hopefully continue to promote our cause and bring more people to our way of thinking on this.” Kerry’s spokesperson notes that the senator is not against LNG altogether, but objects to the Weaver’s Cove terminal because it would be located in close proximity to population centers.
