Op-eds Support Cabrillo Port
An Oxnard, Calif. resident responds to remarks made by Councilman Tim Flynn in opposition to BHP Billiton’s Cabrillo Port proposal. The resident says that, rather than reduce reliance on all imported fuel as Flynn suggests, the U.S. should look to decrease dependence on oil producing countries that “driv[e] the cost of crude oil through the ceiling.” He says the Cabrillo Port project seems like “a practical, low-impact solution to some of our immediate and long-term energy needs.”
Another Oxnard, Calif. resident criticizes U.S. Rep. and House Energy Committee member Lois Capps (D-Calif.) for opposing initiatives, including the Cabrillo Port proposal, that would allay the energy shortfall in the United States.
