In an interview with the Long Beach Business Journal, LNG Expert Dr. Phani K. Raj says that Sound Energy Solutions’ proposed Long Beach LNG terminal is no more risky than other U.S. energy and chemical facilities in terms of safety and security. Noting the “ideal” location in an industrial area, Raj concludes that the project’s “safety and security risks are minimal compared to any other facility that we in this country have been used to for at least 50 years if not more.” The Long Beach Business Journal’s interview with Raj is available here; the publication previously interviewed Dr. Jerry Havens, who opposes the SES terminal.
