Environmental Group Criticizes Weaver’s Cove Project at Annual Meeting

Fall River Mayor Edward M. Lambert Jr. and Save the Bay yesterday expressed their commitment to fight against the Weaver’s Cove LNG plan at the environmental activist group’s 36th annual meeting and brunch. “This project should not happen,” Lambert said. “I’m very appreciative of Save the Bay’s support in this.” Former CIA director R. James Woolsey and Rhode Island Gov. Donald Carcieri also addressed the gathering. Woolsey spoke about the war on terror and noted that energy facilities such as LNG facilities potentially could be terrorist targets if cited in urban areas. Read more in today’s Herald News.
