Chevron Executive Discusses Shtokman Project With Russian Officials

Chevron CEO David O’Reilly yesterday met with Russian ministers to discuss the Shtokman gas field venture. Chevron is one of the finalists under consideration as a partner with Gazprom to develop the huge Russian gas field. LNG from Shtokman is expected to be imported to the U.S., and Chevron, along with the other finalists, have made capacity at regasification terminals in the U.S. a key element of their offer to Gazprom. On April 15, Gazprom is expected to officially name the final partners for the development of the 3.2 trillion cubic meter Shtokman field. Details of the meeting are in a Dow Jones article carried via today’s Energy Central Professional. [Subscription required]
