Cacouna Energy Closes Engineering and Construction Deal
Cacouna Energy has announced that it has awarded the Front End Engineering and Design contract for its proposed 500 MMcf/day LNG terminal in Quebec to several international engineering and construction firms. “Initiating this work is an important step forward in the development of the Cacouna Energy LNG facility and will further file the preliminary project design,” said John Van Der Put, project director for Cacouna Energy. The company press release notes that Cacouna’s next significant milestone is a hearing before the Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency. If regulatory approvals proceed as expected, the company projects construction to commence in 2007, with an in-service date of 2009.
