Local Activists to Hold Rally Against LNG Development in Passamaquoddy Bay
Yesterday’s Bangor Daily News reports that Save Passamaquoddy Bay has scheduled a rally tomorrow in opposition to the three LNG terminals that are planned for the Bay. Organizers of the event plan to discuss the political and legal initiatives that are underway to halt the projects. “It’s also important for people to realize firsthand that there are a lot of others who feel the same way about this area, and the inappropriateness of bringing in this type of industry,” says Linda Sisson, a resident of Eastport and the rally’s master of ceremonies. “It would destroy so much, and certainly would not deliver all that the developers are promising the people here.” [Access to archived articles requires a fee.]
