Weaver’s Cove to Use Smaller Vessels
A spokesman for Weaver’s Cove said Friday that it will commission a fleet of small LNG carriers that can fit under the existing Brightman Street Bridge. The vessels would be 82 feet wide and have a capacity of 55,000 m3. The smaller size would require as many as three deliveries each week. The Boston Globe reports that, in response to concerns about increased opportunities for attack and increased security costs resulting from the more frequent deliveries, Weaver’s Cove said it would use fewer, conventional ships if the bridge is removed.
