Florida Pipeline Project Stunted by Opposition in the Bahamas
Public opposition to an LNG terminal proposal in the Bahamas has stalled construction plans for a subsea pipeline between Florida and the islands. The pipeline project has spawned conflict of issue concerns regarding Republican gubernatorial candidate Tom Gallagher’s ownership of stock in AES, the company behind the Ocean Express project. Gallagher failed to disclose his stockholdings when he, along with Gov. Jeb Bush and other Cabinet members, approved the proposal. Saturday’s edition of The St. Petersburg Times has the story.
