Army Corps of Engineers Seeks Application from Broadwater
The Army Corps of Engineers in a letter dated February 2, 2006, reminded Broadwater that it is required to work with the Corps “in parallel with FERC, the lead federal agency,” to obtain authorization to construct an LNG terminal and pipeline in the Long Island Sound. Reminding Broadwater of guidance the Corps provided to the developer during discussions held in early 2005, the Army Corps stressed that it is “imperative” that Broadwater file an application with the Corps “immediately so that [the Corps] may process the application concurrently with FERC application process.” The letter warned that a delay in submission of an application could cause significant delays in the approval process. The letter is available in the FERC e-Library at Docket No. CP06-54.
