Special Master Chosen in Boundary Clash
The News Journal today reports that the U.S. Supreme Court has appointed a Special Master to act as fact-finder in the boundary dispute between New Jersey and Delaware. The Special Master, a Portland, Maine lawyer, has the “authority to fix the time and conditions for additional pleadings” and summon witnesses as necessary. The decision to appoint a Special Master is contrary to New Jersey’s request for a quick decision and could further delay BP’s Crown Landing terminal; previous boundary disputes have taken years to resolve.
