Second LNG Terminal Proposed for Long Island

Today’s edition of The Day reports that New York-based Atlantic Sea Island Group today will reveal details on the second LNG terminal planned for the Long Island area. According to the company’s press release, the proposal calls for a terminal situated on a man-made island off the south shore of Long Island, “far from population centers and outside vital shipping lanes.” Amy Kelley, a spokesperson for Broadwater, says the announcement will not stop her company for filing an application with FERC for its regasification facility on the Long Island Sound.
