Navy Withdraws Weaver’s Cove Appeal

The Herald News reports that the U.S. Navy officially has withdrawn its protest against the Weaver’s Cove LNG terminal, as FERC today evaluates other appeals of its order permitting the facility. The Navy rescinded the petition on the condition that if the Coast Guard recommends permitting Hess LNG to bring tankers to its facility, it will include language allowing the Navy to conduct training exercises. LNGLawBlog reported on the letter of agreement between the Coast Guard and the Navy on January 6.
