Gov. Baldacci Wants “Timely Action” on Pipeline Expansion Proposal
In a letter dated December 16, 2005, Maine Gov. John Baldacci has asked FERC to rule quickly and favorably on the Maritimes & Pipeline expansion proposal in light of the energy predicament in the Northeast. “Maritimes’ Phase IV project appears to be a sensible addition to the natural gas pipeline system. Timely action on Maritimes’ petition for a preliminary determination will allow the company to continue its efforts to meet the demands of both natural gas consumers and suppliers,” he said. Baldacci also wanted FERC to ensure that the process encourages and addresses all public concerns.
