In an op-ed published yesterday by The Bangor Daily News, Quoddy Regional Land Trust trustee Dick Hoyt suggests FERC is subject to “undue political influence or pressure,” calling Commissioner Kelliher a former “powerful lobbyist for the power industry with strong ties to the current occupants of the White House” and asserting that all three Commissioners are Republicans. Hoyt calls for Democratic appointees and a “full statement of financial and corporate disclosure regarding any connection to the LNG industry.” [LNGLawBlog notes that Commissioner Suedeen Kelly is a Democrat, and cast the sole dissenting vote in the order approving Weaver’s Cove.
