Canadian LNG Development To Benefit New England
Monday’s Natural Gas Week reports that LNG development in eastern Canada largely will serve energy demands in New England where opposition to LNG development is strong. Citing the proposed LNG terminals in St. John, New Brunswick, and Bear Head and Goldsboro, Nova Scotia, the article emphasizes the position of the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers that the projects are “for the most part, imports for re-export projects.” The article also highlights Rhode Island Gov. Carcieri’s efforts to encourage importation of Canadian regasified LNG into New England. [Subscription required]
