SCT&E LNG Files for DOE Authorization to Export Additional LNG Volumes
SCT&E LNG, LLC, a subsidiary of Southern California Telephone Company, filed an application with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) for authorization to export 12 million metric tons per annum (approximately 1.6 Bcf/day) of domestically produced LNG over 30 years from a proposed LNG export facility at Monkey Island in the Calcasieu Ship Channel, Cameron Parish, La. to nations with a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with the United States. SCT&E states that it intends to provide LNG supplies from its Monkey Island facility to a proposed 400 megawatt power plant to be constructed by its affiliate, North Energy Central, near Manzanillo, Dominican Republic. SCT&E states that it intends to withdraw its prior application to export 4 mtpa to FTA nations filed in May 2014.
